  Mrs. Elizabeth Marquart Crowley, 79, of Auburn, NY, and Zephyrhills, FL, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2007, in Temple Terrace, FL. Elizabeth, or "Liz" as she was affectionately known, was the former city of Auburn, NY, treasurer and a former Women's Activities Coordinator for the New York State Fair.
 
  She was also a 30-year employee of the New York Telephone Co. Her political activities included serving as a New York State Committeewoman, a delegate to the 1974 and 1976 Democratic National Conventions, a former Assistant Secretary of the NYS Democratic Committee and a delegate to the 1974 Democratic National "Mini" Convention. In addition, she was a member of the National Women's Hall of Fame as well as its Honors Committee, a member of the Metropolitan Business & Professional Women's Club, a member of the Syracuse Better Business Bureau Consumer Council, the Syracuse Chamber of Commerce Speakers' Bureau and the Syracuse Toastmistress Club. Liz was honored as Woman of the Year in 1980 with the Business and Professional Women's Club. A member of the board of directors of the American Cancer Society and of the Neighborhood House in Cayuga County, Liz also was a member of the Episcopal Church of St. Peter & John.
 
  A 1945 graduate of Port Byron Central Schools, she was the daughter of Howard and Florence L. Cannem Marquart. She was a graduate of the New York Telephone Co. management schools, serving in several administrative and management positions throughout NYS with the New York Telephone Co. She also served as NYS vice president of the Independent Telephone Traffic Union.
 
  Surviving are two sisters, Mary M. Davis of Cortland, NY, and Zephyrhills, FL, and Katherine M. Kastick of Auburn, NY; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Marquart Conyngham of Trucksville, PA, and Patricia Marquart of Baldwinsville, NY; one brother-in-law, Richard Carr of Cortland, NY; several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and -nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred G. Crowley, in 1967; as well as her parents; brothers, Howard Marquart and William Marquart; sister, Florence M. Carr; and brothers-in-law, Herbert Davis and Ted Kastick.
 
A memorial service and memorial visitation will take place 4-6 pm June 22nd at Farrell's Funeral Service, Inc., 84 South Street, Auburn, NY. Contributions may be made to either the American Heart Fund or the American Cancer Society.
